79 and sunny

today found me hopping on my bike, with dodger in tow, for a nice little ride to the park to play fetch & soak up the sun.
as beautiful as this weather is, i'm not ready for it to get hot again.
call me crazy, but i wish we lived somewhere that actually had seasons.
oh well, in the meantime i'll enjoy the bike rides, picnics, long walks, & dinners on the back patio!

{spring does bring me these little beauties and i love her for that!}

breckinridge, co

for our anniversary in january, hubby got me a little trip to breckinridge {even though i asked him not to get me anything} which fell on valentine's day weekend {which i don't particularly care for, nor did i want to do much for it}. funny how that worked out. ;) nevertheless, it was the perfect little getaway!
and as an extra little perk....we were able to use Wes's {my brothers friend} season ski passes!
we flew to denver, made a quick stop to pick up our new identities then we were off to breckinridge.
the town was fabulous, so quaint, i fell in love! we dropped our bags off and headed out to dinner. afterwards as we were wandering around town we stumbled upon the BEST little crepe stand! lets just say we became quite familiar with this place and their delicious crepes!

we got in 2 fabulous days or boarding
{minus my minor disagreement with my brand new boots, the 10* weather that my 4 layers of clothes couldn't handle, and a not so little tumble for me}
saturday night hubby treated me to my favorite, fondue, and it was delish!

these were just too perfect, i had to stop and snap a pic

thank you hubby for our little getaway and forever surprising me! i love you

caught red handed

so i was in the office on the computer when i realized that i hadn't heard puppy in quite some time. this is strange, very strange. his snoring alone is always background noise in our home, not to mention he is my shadow. so i start looking for him. nowhere to be found. as soon as i got to the kitchen i stop as i hear some munching. i look all around, still cant see him. then i realize where the munching is coming from... the pantry. the door is shut. what!? i open it to find dodger, half his body inside a jumbo size tortilla chips bag. he had probably been in there for a good 5 minutes. just him and the tortilla chips. a little afternoon snack.

he said we were going on an adventure

an adventure indeed! we started the night out right with dinner at palette where i had hands down THE BEST butternut squash ravioli i have ever had! it was genius!
then we made our way over to the art walk. the first friday of every month phoenix puts on an art festival where all the galleries stay open until about 10pm and you can spend the evening just wandering in and out of these tiny little buildings admiring the wonderful work.

first stop: the phoenix art museum which was amazing. my first love was the installation of burnt fire wood. so cool.

and then i ran into this baby. i love the teal gun inside the flower house. fantastic!

this whole painting was made only out of dots! love this kind of work! {called pointallism}
i love, love, love to people watch so this whole evening was filled with  entertainment! we saw street performers and bands, we learned there is a big scientology center downtown and an even bigger group protesting them. we heard arguments about religion: desperate to prove their point, who is right, who is wrong. we saw a street performer jump from a platform onto broken glass, ouch {and not quite sure the point of that}! and the art, oh the art! so inspiring! you will know where to find us the first friday of every month!

another reason why i love him

he let me take him on a date to see Devotchka even though he had never heard of them before. he put up with the overwhelming stench of patchouli and sweaty people and ended up loving the show

it was THE BEST show i have seen
how could you go wrong when you have a girl with a tuba, a guy and his accordion, a piano, violin and a trumpet? sounds crazy, yes, but makes for oh so cool music.

if you have seen little miss sunshine then you've already heard them, they basically did the whole soundtrack to the movie. fabulous!

thanks hubby for always being so open minded!
i love you

{oh he also took me for frozen yogurt before the show, he really knows how to win my heart}
