dishtowel dreams

instead of letting those miles of "practice" fabric go to waste, i set out to make a new dishtowel. i know you may be thinking this is quite a simple task, but it was a task indeed. i was insistant on my straight lines because, afterall, it must live up to anthropologie's standards since i own a couple of their dishtowels. and might i say it lived up! 

chris: there will be no such pictures of "the purse" {if you can even call it that} since it will never see the light of day, or be seen by even my camera!

 

adventures in sewing

last night was the beginning of a new adventure. it involved b, a sewing machine and an extremely patient sis-in-law. oh and 2 and a half yards of fabric because i have no concept of how much fabric actually goes into this amazing talent. {fyi, only 1/2 a yard is necessary to construct a purse}. yes you heard me right, i made a purse. it looks like total crap but oh it is glorious crap! i cant believe my first time ever TOUCHING a sewing machine i made something! i seriously thought therena was just going to have me sew a straight line along the edge and call it quits. she came fully prepared to sew a complete item. amazing. there will be no evidence of this purse however, but once something comes out of that machine that does not completely look like a 4 year old did it i will post pics. until then, happy sewing!

april happenings

• easter egg hunt and the easter bunny

 

• our staycation {pics to come on that later} and a night @ Gammage to see Cats {not my favorite of them all but still good to see}
  

• a weekend getaway with the girls {plus 1 bro} to see our very missed sista consisted of: laughing until our bellies ached, eating until we just couldn't stand it, bike rides, parrots, inside jokes, shopping, bonding and more laughing.
  

 

• a birthday lunch for our lovely sis
• lazy boot campers after our lazy weekend
• and of course lovely dates with husband {my favorite thing to do}

dear weather

i know that i have complained about you before,

in fear that you were getting too hot too quickly.

but tonight we were able to enjoy our dinner on the back patio

and take a little stroll at dana park.

so for that, i thank you

now you, my little diet that is torturing me,

you i will complain about.

i have been starving all day and am struggling to stay under my calorie limit.

darn you diet

{dont worry, when this is all over and i am feeling fantastic i will be thanking you as well}

a post about not much at all

i have been particularly boring as of late

i did, however, start a very grueling boot camp with my lovely sistas and sis-in-law

and although i curse the day i ever thought it was a good idea, i feel fantastic afterwards!

i've been helping my totally fabulous mom outfit her kitchen in anthropologie's finest

which has now made me want to redo my 

entire house {sigh}

but i will be saving my pennies to have the rest of my bare walls painted {hooray!}

we packed up and sent my sis on her way to utah, we miss he already!

and as far as dodger is concerned, i think he is ready for a vacation! 

hope next week brings some excitement!
