this is where you can find us while up at the cabin

and this is what husband did when i went to take a picture

but then he made up for it and let me take this

and since we've been home i've been doing this:

• editing photo shoots
  
• putting together a video of our family vacay @ the cabin
  
• STILL trying to finish my skirt
  
• plus another sewing project
  
• another sleepover with those 5 fabulous boys {which came included with a swim party and a trip to the lake}
• and a camping trip coming up this weekend!

diana, you so silly

sometimes you like to take two pictures in one.

or your black and whites have some strange film grain.

or you overlap.

but thats why i love you

and best of all, sometimes you take pictures of husband when he doesn't even know it.

and that makes me happy

and the verdict is in

turns out diana came thru the metal detectors alive.

she's one tough cookie.

 and although she obviously was very annoyed, here is what she saw on our trip back east

and a few others taken in DC

on another note,  my flowers are dead

shocker? not really

apparently they didn't get the memo that i would be gone for a whole week.

 

last but certainly not least: New Jersey

we spent the last few days of our adventure in New Jersey {said with true new jersey accent} 

soaking up the little towns and all their glory:

bubba's hot dawgs {for one of the best hot dogs i've had}

mini cheeseburgers @ white manna

farmer's markets

little fairs in parks

ice cream @ friendly's 

4th of july festivities at a local high school 

and what better way to top off our week than a grand finale of fireworks?

diana was by my side the whole trip & husband just took her in today to be developed {lets cross our fingers though because apparently when you take film thru the metal detectors at the airport, it makes diana mad. so we will see if she cooperated}

next stop: Philly

Thursday we were able to hop on a plane to go stay with mike, sue and reagan in NEW JERSEY 

{correction from previous blog post: we were not in New York, it was in fact New Jersey} 

that was for you, sue. hope yours and New Jersey's feelings are better now ;)

but New York just kind of rolls of the tongue, right?

First thing Friday morning we made the trek over to Philly where my Aunt Marilee & Uncle David gave us a first class walking tour of their city. since they know all the nooks and crannies, we really saw a lot! However, the line for that notorious bell was just a tad bit ridiculous, so we opted for a walk by site seeing. which hey, was fine by me. 

its a bell. 

i've seen national treasurer. 

same thing. 

my enthusiasm for historical sites is riveting, isn't it?

And thanks to Marilee & David we didn't leave empty handed....

Our whirlwind trip started out with a bang {in one of my favorite cities} 

who am i kidding...any city with mass transportation and people watching: i am one happy chick

see:

waiting for the metro, i coulnd't be happier! its the little things in life people!

 husband, on the other hand, couldn't of cared less 

while husband was stuck in conferences, i headed to Alexandria & Georgetown to do what i came for:

SHOPPING

{& cupcakes, of course}

• we hopped on a trolly for a night tour of all the sites {which we completely got soaked, but super fun nonetheless}
  

we also got to go back to the FDR memorial 

where husband and i were engaged almost exactly 6 years earlier! awwwwe ;)

 

• A pit stop at the Arlington cemetery before hitting up BGR the burger joint in Bethesda with a good friend
  

with plenty of walking and people watching

i was in heaven!

this pretty much sums it up

basically my food of choice for an entire week!

oh bootcamp.....we will have so much fun tomorrow {wink wink}
